Die Tolomairiro High School in Milton, einer kleinen Stadt auf der Südinsel von Neuseeland.
Sie liegt etwa 40 Kilometer von der nächstgrößeren Stadt Dunedin entfernt.
Diese neuseeländische High School ist mit insgesamt ca. 280 Schülerinnen und Schülern sehr überschaubar, eine gute und sehr partnerschaftliche Betreuung der international students ist garantiert. Wer sich als deutscher Gast für diese Schule entscheidet, trifft auf sehr freundliche, hilfsbereite und unkomplizierte Menschen. Da diese Schule nur wenige Schüler aus dem Ausland hat, besteht eine gute Chance, schnell mit den neuseeländischen Mitschülern in engen Kontakt zu kommen, für die meisten Jungen und Mädchen aus Deutschland eine ganz wichtige Sache. Die Nähe zur Natur und vielen Sportmöglichkeiten machen diese Schule zusätzlich sehr reizvoll.

Tokomairiro High School is for boys and girls from Year 7 to Year 13. We are a school with a very friendly atmosphere, small class sizes for individual attention and excellent, dedicated teachers.

Tokomairiro has excellent classroom facilities, extensive playing fields, a full size gymnasium and has swimming pool facilities nearby.
Tokomairiro High School is located in Milton, 40 minutes from Dunedin city and 30 minutes from Dunedin International Airport with the tourist town of Queenstown a three hour drive away. Milton is surrounded by rolling green hills, farmland and forest and is a safe community. Being a smaller town, means you can usually walk to school, or to the local shops for ice cream!
Subjects offered: English including English for International students, Maths with Calculus or Statistics for seniors, Science with Biology, Chemistry and Physics for seniors, Physical Education, Geography, History, Classical Studies, French, Art, Drama, Technology and Horticulture.
Outdoor Education currently include: hiking the Kepler and Routeburn tracks, camps in The Catlins, South Otago, a geography camp to Queenstown plus a ski trip.
Sporting opportunities include: hockey, volleyball, touch rugby, rugby and netball. Lunch times offer the chance to participate other sports.
There are 270 students at Tokomairiro High School with an International student from Hong Kong being welcomed this year in Term Two.
Tokomairiro would love to welcome some German students and as International student numbers are low it means each student can take advantage of the courses offered and get to know the ‘Kiwi’ students very well.
